Flora's Fanfare is a woman-led brass band from New York.

THE OBJECTIVE
Previously “New Heights,” the band chose a new name that reflects their current identity and mission. Named after the Goddess Flora, it celebrates growth, beauty, and nature. They also wanted to highlight the talented women in their band with the rename.

Customized Bookman for the type to have this balance of femininity without losing the boldness brass instruments are known for.  ‘Fanfares’ are often associated with grandeur and celebratory instrumental flourishes so I wanted the letters to have, well, lots of flourishes reminiscent of elegant sprawling greenery. Lastly, subtle trumpet bells are found in the letters’ serifs to tie everything together.

PROJECT SCOPE
Art Direction, Logo Design, Custom Type
I also designed some sample posters to accompany the new logo.
