In an exclusive collaboration, Adidas City Lab and Purveyr worked with four Filipino artists to craft and design the idea of playing outdoors.
THE OBJECTIVE
I was approached to design a custom set of letters and numbers inspired by the vibrant Manila outdoors to turn into tangible patches and used to personalize products designed by the other collaborators.

Their moodboard included vibrant photos of signages, logos, and paintings around Manila. From there, I looked for inspiration at the source and took time to really stop and observe the type and color around us from signs to packaging to publications.
Through the process, I developed an even deeper appreciation for these everyday type designs, this craft, and the people who have been mastering this for years. Sometimes when we are so used to the things around us, we can take them for granted and I hope people have a stronger appreciation for these local lettering, hand paintings, and signages.
Customers can customize their Adidas apparel by mixing and matching these patches to create their own unique piece.
These patches, along with t-shirt designs by Jer Dee, Finn Santos, and Awkwardbutable are available in local Adidas stores in Trinoma, Glorietta, and Two Parkade.
